ALEX AIMS TO MAINTAIN AWAY FORM

20th September 2002

In an interview on Friday afternoon, Manager Alex Smith was in no doubt about the challenge of meeting with Hearts the following day. "Playing away to Heart of Midlothian is always a very challenging and hazardous fixture - and it is one we enjoy. Our endeavour tomorrow shall be to continue our latest away form at Aberdeen. In recent times, we have established a good record against Hearts at Tynecastle but we know that Hearts have started their campaign in sprightly fashion and put in two impressive performances in front of live TV cameras. We are under no illusion as to the task ahead but are confident that we can take something from the game."

On the injury front, Jamie McCunnie will be sitting it out due to a hip injury incurred in Wednesday's Under-21s 5-0 defeat of Aberdeen, whilst Arnar Gunnlaugsson is still suffering from a calf strain. Both players, however, are reported to make steady recovery progress and should be back in action in the near future.
