Dundee United were held to a goalless draw at Tannadice as a resolute Dunfermline Athletic ensured the deadlock remained unbroken.
The Terrors came close to finding a winner in the dying embers, with Archie Meekison forcing a sublime stop from former United 'keeper Deniz Mehmet and Josh Edwards preventing Louis Moult from touching the ball into an unguarded net, but had to settle for just a solitary point on home soil.
Despite the tangerine frustration, the result widened the gap on title rivals Raith Rovers, as the Kirkcaldy outfit simultaneously succumbed to a 2-3 defeat at the hands of Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
