UNITED WELCOME 15 NEW SIGNINGS TO TANNADICE

17th December 2019

Dundee United Football Club is delighted to announce that tonight at Tannadice 15 new signings for the Under 11s committed their futures to the Club.

After a year-long identification and recruitment process led by Head of Academy Talent ID and Recruitment Jordon Moore and the Regional Academy Scouts, these 15 youngsters signed their Club Academy Scotland registrations ahead of the 2020 season this evening.

Two of the Club's most recent Academy Graduates Jamie Robson, who was rewarded for making his 100th first team appearance for Dundee United earlier this season, and Chris Mochrie, the Club's youngest ever debutant, were in attendance to join the boys in celebrating this memorable moment and welcome them on to the same journey they went on not so long ago.

Andy Goldie, Dundee United's Academy Director, said: “We are delighted to welcome the 15 boys, their families and respective boys clubs to Tannadice tonight to celebrate signing for the Academy.

"It’s the start of an exciting journey for them all and we are very much looking forward to seeing them continue to develop as young people and players over the coming years.

"The work Jordan and his Regional Academy Scouts have done has been excellent over the course of 2019 and it’s a great credit to them and our Academy Coaches that the boys and their families see Dundee United as the best club to continue their development.

"Thank you to our Academy Graduates Jamie and Chris for coming along tonight and speaking to the boys about the journeys they have been on at Dundee United. That’s the opportunity these boys have at this Club and with the work that has been done throughout 2019 and progression to Elite Status, we are excited about what the future holds for them.”

Callum Ledford – Kintore FC

Jordan Moore added: “We have an exciting group of players committing their futures to the Academy tonight and I am very grateful to all their respective boys clubs, who have worked closely with us to provide these boys with the opportunity to continue their development at Dundee United."

"I’m delighted to see the work of our Regional Academy Scouts come to fruition as well tonight. We have worked tirelessly to build a Talent ID network across Scotland throughout 2019 to identify and recruit the best talent not only in Dundee but Aberdeenshire, Fife, Perth & Kinross, Edinburgh and Forth Valley.

"The fact that a number of these boys have pledged their future to Dundee United over other clubs in these regions speaks volumes of where our Academy is going and we are excited to see what the future holds for them in tangerine.”
