CASH FOR KIDS PARTNERSHIP

29th May 2019

Dundee United's Community Trust is delighted to continue their close working relationship with Radio Tay’s Cash for Kids Charity in 2019/2020.

Last year, the two charities worked together to provide football coaching opportunities at Christmas Time, with Cash for Kids providing £4,000 to support the activity.  The children in attendance received food, five hours of football coaching and free entry to Dundee United vs Falkirk on 22ndDecember 2018 – even meeting manager Robbie Neilson who presented certificates to the lucky group. Dundee United Football Club also hosted a matchday awareness event which encouraged supporters to get behind the charity.

For 2019/2020 the Trust and Cash for Kids have pledged to strengthen what is already a fantastic partnership by hosting another matchday event as part of the calendar for next season to support the “Mission Christmas” campaign.  This year the Trust will also be supporting Superhero Day by encouraging participants at all our sessions  in the run up to 10th May.

Jamie Kirk said, "I’m really pleased to continue working closely with Cash for Kids.  Developing links with local charities and groups who share our values is a really important part of our new strategy and this partnership with Cash for Kids is a particularly strong one.  We love the concept of the proceeds of fundraising staying in the area to help local people and many of the beneficiaries of Cash for Kids will also engage with the Community Trust in one shape or another."

Claire Heaton, Cash for Kids Manager in Tayside added, "The partnership with Dundee United’s Community Trust allows us to reach out to local children and provide them with opportunities to make memories that will last a life time. Working together, we can make a huge impact on the lives of children living within Tayside and Fife."
