Reserves earn deserved draw

28th August 2018

William Edjenguele’s last minute equaliser earned the Tannadice second string a wholly deserved point at the St Andrews University grounds this afternoon.

In a fiercely competitive contest, Killie made the better start and went ahead after 12 minutes when Will Graham swept home Dom Thomas’s cut-back from 15 yards.

Shortly afterwards, a terrific one-handed save by visiting keeper Douglas Mackay from Paul McMullan’s 20-yarder maintained that advantage.

And only the post prevented Declan Glass from levelling shortly before the break.

Dominating the second half, United had numerous chances and it looked as though the visitors were going to sneak victory until Edjenguele's intervention when he sent a glancing header in at the near post from McMullan’s perfectly flighted free-kick.

Dundee United: Donaldson, Trialist, Bollan, Zata, Edjenguele, Allardice, Trialist (Ward 80), Glass, Smith, McMullan, Appere. Subs not used: Currid, Cooney, Graham, Reekie.
