John Robertson's team has been one of the form teams in the Ladbrokes Championship although the past week had been unkind to the Caley Jags with defeat in the Scottish Cup at home to Dundee on Tuesday following a 3-1 loss away to Falkirk in the Championship last Saturday.

The aim for Inverness remains to ensure their place within the top four for the end of season play-offs.

United come into the game looking to rebuild confidence that has been shattered by recent results. Last Saturday's 0-3 defeat at home to Morton was seen by many as a pivotal moment in the battle to win the title.

While everyone remains focused on first place, it is now, evidently a difficult task. However, it is up to the United players to ask the questions of St Mirren in the remaining games. The travelling United fans who will make the journey to the Caledonian Stadium will expect to see a reaction and demand a result.

It has been a case of reverse fortunes for the teams in the two battles so far this season with United securing a 1-0 victory up at Inverness at the start of the season thanks to a Paul McMullan goal. In the return fixture, Inverness went back up the road with a 2-0 victory that signalled the end of Ray McKinnon's tenure as United manager.

Tickets are still available to purchase from the ticket centre and a ticket booth will be open outside the ground on the day for United fans to buy their briefs on matchday.
