ALLASSAN JONES SIGNS PROFESSIONAL CONTRACT

Dundee United today announced 16-year-old Alassan Jones has signed his first professional contract with the Club.

The Swedish-born attacking midfielder, who joined United from Tynecastle Boys' Club, has been in the Academy since 2017 and signed a contract that will secure him to United until May 2020.

Alassan said, "I have felt very welcome here and have already trained quite a few times with the first team which has excited me. I am delighted to sign my first professional contract with Dundee United."

In other contract news, goalkeeper Brett Long has returned to Tannadice after his loan to Cliftonville ended.

It was also confirmed that striker Joe Piggott had left the Club. Dundee United thank Joe for his service and wish him well in his future career.
