Festive Friends 2017

21st December 2017

Following last year’s most successful inaugural event, Dundee United yesterday welcomed again over 30 Festive Friends at Tannadice in an initiative run in partnership with the Scottish Professional Football League Trust and Dundee United Community Trust aimed at engaging socially isolated older people.

The day included a lavish three course Christmas dinner, festive games, live entertainment as well as the visit of Club Captain turned Santa Willo Flood.

Dundee United Community Manager Gordon Grady said: "We have had a tremendous day at Tannadice here today. Similar to the Still Game Project which we also run at the Club, I believe this kind of initiative addresses an urgent need in our society. It is important to remember that the festive season can be a very difficult time of the year, especially for isolated people, and we are thrilled we could make Christmas for our guests quite special this year.”
