DUNDEE UNITED ACHIEVE PERFORMANCE PROGRESSIVE STATUS

13th November 2017

Dundee United is pleased to announce that the Club has achieved Performance Progressive status following the Scottish FA’s Club Academy Scotland (CAS) Panel assessment at the end of October.

Performance Progressive status was the Club’s initial target in achieving the ultimate aim of Elite status under the Scottish FA’s “Project Brave” programme.

The award – the top award within the Performance tier – applies to 2018 with a review scheduled for June 2018. The Club is now working on plans to extend its Academy support team to give it the best chance of achieving Elite status by 2020.

Stephen Thompson, Chairman, Dundee United FC said: “Our commitment to identifying, attracting and developing the best young players remains a key focus. We remain determined to improve standards across the Club and one of the leading pillars is our youth development and pathway strategy.

“There is a lot of hard work ahead to achieve Elite status but we are fortunate to have a positive partnership with the recently formed Dundee United Youth Development Board which has worked closely with staff to deliver this award.”

Dundee United Youth Development Board includes representation from supporters’ organisations Including ArabTrust, Dundee United Business Club and the Dundee United Development Association and many individual fans are also backing DUYDB by contributing monthly to assist with the Club’s youth development activity.
