SFA Youth Cup: Lossiemouth 0 Dundee United 9

6th November 2016

The Young Terrors advanced to the Fourth Round of the SFA Youth Cup at Grant Park this afternoon emphatically defeating their Lossiemouth counterparts 9 - 0. By Peter Rundo The home defence was breached after 12 minutes when Louis Appere latched on to a Logan Chalmers flick to take it round the keeper before prodding home from close range. Well on top, the vistors doubled their lead after 25 minutes from a penalty after Gavin Ritchie was brought down with Jordan Garden sending the keeper the wrong way. Three minutes later, Graham Taylor rammed it home from close range after Appere had twice been denied by goal-line clearances. At least three more good chances fell to United before the fourth arrived four minutes from the interval, Garden powerfully angling home after his first effort was blocked. A minute from the interval, Logan Davie blasted home number five from 35 yards. And on the stroke of half-time, Garden completed his hat-trick netting the rebound after his second penalty of the match had been saved. Although continuing in total control after the break, United only added three more – all scored by Logan Chalmers in 13 minutes. His first was a curler from 12 yards on 56 minutes. Seven minutes later he tapped home after Garden had broken clear and four minutes later scored his third - a fine finish from a tight angle.
