INJURY AVOIDANCE IS THE AIM

19th June 2000

Several of the club's top team squad will remain on the sidelines next week, when normal training service resumes at Tannadice.
Pre-season preparations begin next Tuesday, with the Tangerines youngsters reporting 24-hours earlier.

But there will be first team absentees from the opening sessions spearheaded by assistants John Blackley and Maurice Malpas.
Canadian pair Pat Onstad and Jason de Vos have been given permission to miss out due to international squad commitments, while there are several others will be excused as well.

In-charge Blackley admitted,"We won't be hammering the players initially. It is important to avoid injury at this time".
The preparations will build up to the July 10th pre-season trip to Ireland, when St Patrick's, Bray Wanderers and Shelbourne will be faced in a busy week.
