SEASON TICKET SALES ROMP AHEAD

6th June 2000

The fans' response to United's season ticket package for 2000/2001 continued to overwhelm United on Tuesday. By close of business on Monday, five times as many fans as bought tickets at the same stage last season had already snapped up their new tickets. And business continued to be brisk on Tuesday when once again there was a queue outside the ticket office at Tannadice.

"We are delighted with the response and the messages of support for what we are trying today," says club spokesman Nial Scott. "In all we've had over 50 calls or letters telling us we are doing the right thing and we really appreciate that kind of support. Of course, on top of that we've sold literally hundreds of tickets and that is great news."
