NO POINTS FOR UNDER-21s

15th December 2003

Dundee United's Under-21 side travelled to New Douglas Park Hamilton this afternoon to face Livingston in the SPL Under-21 League and lost to the only goal of the game mid way through the second half.

Owen Coyle was in charge and fielded Paul Jarvie in goal behind a back three of Stuart Duff, Danny Griffin and Steven Anderson. Andy Hunter took the right wing back position and Jim Paterson was on the left. In midfield the experienced Craig Easton joined Steven Bell and Graeme Holmes. The front pair were Jason Scotland and Collin Samuel.

After the match Owen was disappointed and he felt that the defeat was unfortunate in a game where the Tangerines had by far the bulk of possession. "Going forward we created some great opportunities," he said, "but the bottom line is we just never took our chances. There were some positives to take from the match and I thought Jason Scotland was excellent and all his play lacked was a goal. Craig Easton also had a couple of good chances but couldn't get the ball in the net. I was pleased enough with the commitment and attitude from the players. All that was lacking was the result."

Jarvie, Hunter (McGowan 69), J Paterson, Duff, Anderson, Griffin, Bell (Jarvis 60), Easton, Samuel, Scotland, Holmes.
