THE UNITED CLUB SHOP

21st November 2003

Due to various issues in connection with the potential expiry of the lease of the existing shop premises in Victoria Road in the early part of next year, the Club has decided to accelerate planning for possible alternative arrangements.

A number of options are being considered and, as part of this, it has been necessary to undertake a complete review of all product lines to ensure that any new retail arrangement offers the best possible range of merchandise in terms of both quality and competitive pricing.

Unfortunately, during this transitional phase, it may be necessary to allow a number of existing product lines to be run down. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause, particularly as this critical stage in both retail and product redesign coincides with the festive period.

"We are determined to offer Dundee United supporters a much improved service", said General Manager Bill Campbell. "The existing premises do not offer the type of facility that allows us to display goods to their best advantage or to allow our customers to browse or even try on certain products. We are also looking to update and improve the range considerably. It is unfortunate that this will mean that existing products may have to be curtailed but this situation should only last for a relatively short period. As a result of this, supporters can look forward to a vastly improved merchandising operation and I trust that fans will bear with us during this transitional period."
