TALE OF TWO PENALTIES

4th October 2003

United suffered a very painful home defeat this afternoon at the hands of last season's SPL bottom club Motherwell. The 0-2 reverse coupled with Aberdeen's win at Rugby Park meant that the Tangerines fell back to second bottom position in the Bank of Scotland premierleague.

Team Manager Ian McCall had to select a side from a playing pool that was missing Charlie Miller, Jim Paterson, Scott Paterson, Barry Robson and Collin Samuel due to injury. Craig Easton made a return to the first eleven while Owen Coyle found a place on the bench.
