In an evenly matched contest at Glenesk, the United 18s extended their unbeaten run to four games with a narrow victory over a lively Motherwell side last Wednesday. United took the lead on 17 minutes when Malloy headed home a good cross from McMenemy. This lead should have been extended just after half time but Jarvis could not get a good contact on a cutback from Conway (pictured). However, the Tangerines took a deserved two-goal advantage mid way through the second period as Andrew tapped in after good work by Conway and Bell. Motherwell grabbed a consolation goal through Grant with fifteen minutes left.

The Under-18s further added to their unbeaten run games when they travelled to meet Livingston and returned with a well-deserved victory over the West Lothian side. William Easton set up Aaron Conway to score United's first in 25 minutes to give the visitors a half time lead.

Two minutes in to the second period Steven Bell notched the second and Conway scored again with only ten minutes left. The home side did manage to get on the score sheet with a late goal through McLaughlin but by then the points were heading back to Tannadice.

After a run of five defeats the Under-21 side travelled to Livingston on Monday 21st April 2003 in determined mood and in contrast to the last outing against Kilmarnock, the United side contained a several players with first team experience.

Mark Wilson put United ahead in 15 minutes from an Allan Smart through ball and ten minutes later the striker scored himself with a neat lob over the keeper from a loose ball. Paul Jarvie was a star for United in the first half with a couple of first class saves to keep his side ahead but he was finally beaten with two minutes left in the second half during which Livingston had the upper hand.
