UNDER-21s LOSE TO LAST MINUTE GOAL

20th March 2003

The first half of this game was devoid of incident with the only noteworthy goal attempts being a free kick by Livingston's Wilson which was well held by Bruce in the United goal, and a close range header by Lauchlan from a Carson corner, which McEwan did well to push over the top.

The second half produced a livelier contest and Bruce in the United goal had to be alert twice at Livingston free kicks. The young Tangerines did not carry much in the way of goal threat and their best chance came from a McGowan knock which Smart was unable to direct to target.

With only seconds remaining Livi substitute Walker fired in a hopeful cross which Pasquinelli stretched to meet and his effort went high into the net with Bruce failing to reach it.
