PAUL PLAYS IN MAINZ

18th December 2002

Paul Gallacher was once again involved in the Scotland set up last night as the national B side drew 3-3 with their German equivalent in Mainz. Known as the Scotland Future Team, Gallacher played the entire match for Berti Vogt's team in front of an attendance of over just over five thousand spectators. Having been behind twice in the match, Scotland went ahead with under five minutes to go but not before the United keeper had pulled off a magnificent save minutes earlier from Voigt. Unfortunately, the home side equalised with virtually the last action of the match through a 30 metre free kick from the aforementioned Voigt.

Gallacher remains capped twice for his country at full international level. The first against a Hong Kong XI (not recognised by FIFA)followed by a friendly against Canada.
