UNITED LOSE TO RANGERS

United Manager Paul Hegarty brought back Steven Thompson (pictured) to the Tangerine attack this afternoon against Rangers at Ibrox.

United started off brightly but went behind in the 13th minute to a well taken free kick from Ferguson. Lilley came close to equalising however Rangers dominated possession but didn't add to their lead before half time.

HALF TIME: RANGERS 1 UNITED 0

The home side went further ahead in the 56th minute when November's Young Player of the Month Mark Wilson lost possession to Ferguson on the half way line and the Rangers captain ran through and slotted both his and his side's second.

Both sides then went down to ten men in seperate incidents. First Ricksen was red carded followed fifteen minutes later by Jim McIntyre.

Ferguson completed his hat-trick four minutes from the end from the penalty spot.
