UNITED DOMINATE BUT ONLY DRAW

30th November 2002

United went into this afternoon's weekend match looking to get back on track following last weekend's disappointing result against Dundee. Paul Gallacher made it into the side despite injury during the week.

The first half was a tale of two penalties and a disallowed goal. Just on the half hour mark, the burst into action. First Mackie put the visitors ahead from the spot in the 30th minute only for Hamilton to level eight minutes later, also from a penalty. Hamilton who had hit two at Motherwell two weeks ago was denied another double when he netted only for the Assistant Linesman to put up his flag and the goal was disallowed.

United dominated the second period but could not get that all important winner. Aberdeen barely left their own half but the United players could not get in the final accurate shot or header to take the points. In the last minute, Preece made a wonderful one handed save from a Craig Easton powerful drive and the match ended all square.
