PAUL PLANS FOR CELTIC

8th November 2002

In a preview of his first match as manager rather than caretaker manager of United, Paul Hegarty commented on Friday afternoon: "We are obviously looking forward to hosting Celtic on Sunday; it is a very big match for us. After two victories against Airdrie and Kilmarnock we feel confident about the job in hand. We know it is going to be very difficult yet hope we can take something from the match."

"Steven Thompson had a slight groin strain in the course of the week, but he has fully recovered and will start in his usual position. There is a possibility that I might make one change at the back to bring in an experienced player. The idea would be to protect the youthful back four who acquitted themselves so well at Kilmarnock against the very tough challenge the Parkhead side constitutes."
