MATCH REPORT | A PROMOTION PARTY AT TANNADICE

Two cult figures from the United team of a few years ago were back at Tannadice this afternoon. Forward Kjell Olofsson and full back Erik Pederson joined in the pre-match build up by coming onto the field minutes before kick-off and the Arabs in the large home support gave them a rapturous welcome. Kjell and Erik continue to play in their native Sweden and Norway respectively and together with Lars Zetterlund, they were part of the Tommy McLean side in season 1996-1997 that went on a superb run of undefeated matches that culminated in the Tangerines finishing third that season and qualifying for Europe.
