TANNADICE CONNECTIONS IN SCOTLAND TRIUMPH

13th October 2002

Although Steven Thompson was the only United player in the Scotland side that defeated Iceland 2-0 in Reykjavik yesterday afternoon, his international team mates with Tangerine connections also played a significant role in bringing home the three points.

Former Tannadice heroes Steven Pressley and Christain Dailly played a major part in what was national Coach Berti Vogts's second win in charge. Pressley was many supporters choice as man of the match while Dailly headed Scotland in front after only six minutes and went on to play extremely well throughout the game.

To complete the United connection, Paul Gallacher was on the substitutes bench, a role he has fulfilled for a number of matches. The Tannadice keeper's patience may well be rewarded as he may feature from the start of Tuesday's friendly with Canada at Easter Road.
